Santaquin Elementary students delighted the Nebo School Board of Education in March 2019.
Santaquin Elementary School’s principal, Ien Richins thanked the Nebo School Board of Education for this opportunity to share just some of the exciting things happening at the school. Santaquin’s fourth- and sixth-grade students each presented a dance, and the sixth grade sang about the water cycle along with their dance. Both performances related to the grade’s core curriculum. Music helps to reinforce some of the main concepts being taught in the classroom.
Governor Herbert declared March 20, as “Utah Girls in Tech” day. The Advanced Learning Center (ALC) celebrated today with the BYU Computer Science department. Angela Rogers, Angela Jones, and Ronda Hair spent time helping the students learn, “How to Train Your Computer.” The girls had a great experience. Thank you BYU and Ronda Hair for your sharing your expertise during the workshop.

The National Art Education Association (NAEA) has named Jethro Gillespie, of Spanish Fork, UT, to receive the 2019 Elliot Eisner Doctoral Research Award in Art Education Runner Up. This prestigious award, determined through a peer review of nominations, recognizes the value of doctoral research to the profession of art education and its related disciplines, to advocate on behalf of such research, and to foster continued support of d The award will be presented at the NAEA National Convention in Boston, MA, March 14-16, 2019.
