Huntsman Education Awards
The Huntsman Education Awards reward bright and capable individuals working in Utah’s public schools. By celebrating these individuals, the awards seek to inspire current educators and to rekindle interest in the teaching profession among young people. Eleven winners will be selected in recognition of their outstanding contributions to Utah’s public school system and each will receive $10,000, donated by the Huntsman family.

Nebo Hosts Native American Winter Festival

Nebo School District Title VI Indian Education will be hosting its annual Native American Winter Festival at Larsen Elementary on February 28, 2019. 

James Singer is the keynote speaker and is a Diversity Fellow in Sociology and Ethnic Studies at Salt Lake Community College. He is also an adjunct professor in the Master of Arts of Community Leadership program at Westminster College where he teaches social change theory. Mr. Singer has been nominated and received many awards for teaching. 

Santaquin Elementary Earns Nebo #Hashtag Award

Congratulations to Santaquin Elementary, in Nebo School District, and their school PR team for earning the Nebo #Hashtag Award. This award is given to the school that communicates to their parents and students, in a variety of ways, the events and important news items happening at school. Santaquin has over 260 percent of their student enrollment connected on social media to get the latest news from the school. 

Superintendent Rick Nielsen presents the award to Principal Ien Richins. Marlayne Harward is the School PR Ambassador. Congratulations on a job well done!

Nebo Junior High Students Experience State Legislative Session - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

Diamond Fork Junior High students received an excellent tour from Senator Deidre Henderson’s office. The students met with Representative Mike Mckell, among other Representatives and Senators, and even had a chance meeting with U.S. Representative Ben McAdams. 
    
The students showcased their own educational learning including Maker Space and STEAM projects that the students explore and invent in the library program before and after school as well as during E-Time.

Kindergarten Registration is Moving to Summer

Kindergarten registration, traditionally held in March, will be moved to the summer and combined with grades 1st -12th. More detailed information regarding summer registration for K-6th will be sent out to you before the end of the school year.

Parents can prepare now for registering their kindergarten children by making sure they have a birth certificate and that their child is current on the following immunizations: DTap, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Polio, Varicella and MMR by the end of July.
