Nebo Christmas Card Winners - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

Nebo School District received many entries for the Nebo School District Christmas Card. This year, high school students competed for this honor.  All of the following students received recognition and some funds for their hard work and efforts. Nebo has many talented artists and is thrilled to recognize some of them.

First Place: $100 to Jordan Jeppsen, PHS, Teacher Brenda Burdick

Second Place: $75 to Erin Bridenbaugh, SHHS, Teacher Sarah Shuler

Third Place: $50 to Aislynn Patchett, MMHS, Teacher Jethro Gillespie

Nebo Education Foundation Gives Grants December 2016

Foundation President, Dale Phelps, remarked, "It is a pleasure to receive the grant applications and see how remarkable the Nebo District teachers are. The Nebo Education Foundation facilitates these grant monies to help teachers realize their ideas and students' potential. As a foundation, we get to see a glimpse at how well our teachers are instructing our students. Our teachers are truly talented and utilize every penny. They do such a great job!"

Miss Tami Johnson's first grade class at Hobble Creek Elementary, in Nebo School District, created a story inspired by "If you take a Mouse to the Movies" story.

“Granna Epperson” KSL High 5 - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

“Granna Epperson” will be honored on the KSL High 5 on Tuesday, December 20, at 5:45 a.m. You won’t want to miss this touching episode. 

Beth Alice Waller Epperson was born on February 17,1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah at home in a house on 3300 South in East Mill Creek. She weighed five pounds and was so small she fit in her Grandfather's new boots box. Her parents put Beth on the oven door of the coal stove to keep her warm.

Nebo School District wants to showcase our Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK Awards are nominated by patrons and recognized by the Superintendent Staff and Nebo School Board of Education. The award is administered by the Communications and Community Relations Department. 

Nebo Students Attend BYU Game - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

Many of Nebo Elementary students had the opportunity to attend the BYU Womens’ Basketball game against Weber through generous donors in the community. The students had an amazing time.  They loved seeing themselves on the large jumbotron, dancing to music, eating snacks,  and cheering on BYU with, “Rise and Shout! Go Cougars!” The Cougars didn’t disappoint and won the basketball game.

Superintendent Continues to “Focus on Students”

Superintendent Nielsen and Secondary Director Anderson look forward to meeting with high school student leaders every couple of months to address the students’ concerns and listen to their successes. 

When asked about the meeting, Superintendent Rick Nielsen said, “Focusing on students is what we are all about.”
