Nebo Standards of Effective Teaching

All Nebo teachers are encouraged to utilize the Nebo Standards of Effective Teaching (NSET) as a growth tool.  The standards reflect a continuum from teacher-centered performance to student-centered practice.  Level I teachers specifically self-assess in each of the five standards as part of mentor observation/coaching cycles and in conjunction with online portfolio reflections.  Portfolio reflection prompts guide teachers to identify successes within a given standard.  Teachers then pinpoint an area of desired growth and articulate a goal including specific action steps and timeline for re

Assistant Superintendent Wilson Reads to First-Grade Students

Goshen Elementary was fortunate to have Assistant Superintendent Scott Wilson read with a first-grade class.  Mrs. Lopez's first-graders anxiously listened to Llama Llama Red Pajama read aloud by Assistant Superintendent Wilson.  He made the book come alive for the students.  Loving books himself, Mr. Wilson donated this fun book to the the class he visited. 

"Thank you for making reading fun," said the students.

Special Education Sports Fair Extravaganza

September 29, Mapleton Junior High hosted yet another successful sports day for all special needs children from the junior high schools in Nebo School District.  Under the direction of Coach Linda Lewis and Special Education teacher Jo Edan Parker, the event provided a day of sports and fair activities for nearly 300 students.

Mark your calendars – October 10-14 is National School Lunch Week!  Nebo School District will be celebrating with the theme “School Lunch – Let’s Grow Healthy”.  Nebo School District works hard to provide your children with balanced, nutritious meals that will supply them with the nutrients they need to be strong and healthy. 

Nebo serves about 16,000 meals a day which meet the federal nutrition standards under the federally-funded National School Lunch Program.  Your children can come in to eat balanced meals which:
