Sunday Night Fire Update

As of 2018.09.16 - 5:30pm

Our hearts go out to all of those that have been affected by this terrible tragedy.  By way of update, as of Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m., Nebo School District has not received any further updates regarding mandatory evacuation areas from local authorities.  Our understanding is that we will receive more fire updates after their morning evaluations tomorrow.

After discussing the situation, the decision has been made that schools will remain open and will be operating on normal schedules.   Buses will be running other than in areas that are on mandatory evacuation status.  For many students, schools are the safest place to be during the day and a sense of normality is often very beneficial to a majority of students.  We understand that there is no single decision that will accommodate the needs of every patron and employee.  That being the case, the option to keep children home is always at the parents' discretion and schools have been asked to respect and honor parent decisions.

We know this is frustrating for all involved.  We will keep you updated if significant changes occur.  You can also get information by going to our website at www.nebo.edu.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we deal with the ever changing fire situation.
